Is Poco X3 Pro Good for Gaming?: Full Review

Poco X3 Pro Gaming Experience 

The new Poco X3 Pro is considered the true successor to the legendary Poco F1 and should overcome many serious challenges. Not everyone wants the latest and beautiful features-some buyers on a tight budget want more options on phones that like cameras. Battery life and even gaming performance. Poco F1 focuses on high-end processors and did not apologize for the delays of other departments. Due to renewed focus on the youth market, Poco took a slightly different approach to X3 Pro. Interestingly, the parent company Xiaomi also recently launched Mi 11X in India (review), which has a reputation in markets other than Poco F3 and is closer to Poco F3. Take F1 as the price. 

Poco X3 Pro price in India

 Poco X3 Pro starts at Rs 18,999 and has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage space. If you need 8GB of RAM, there is another option at a price of Rs 20,999, but the storage space remains the same. If you are an advanced user and plan to use this phone for a long time, you may find the difference between 6GB and 8GB RAM. 

There are three colors to choose from: graphite black, steel blue and gold bronze. In terms of location, Poco’s launch cost is lower than Poco F1 (review version), although the model has been abandoned and is often discounted several times. It will compete with Redmi Note 10 Pro Max (test), Realme X7 5G (test), Moto G60 (test) and several other popular latest models.

Poco X3 Pro design

 Poco brand is obviously aimed at young buyers, they like those attractive designs that stand out everywhere. We have seen eye-catching colors, the unique shape of the camera module, and eye-catching patterns on some of the recently launched Poco phones. It looks a lot like Poco X3 (preview), with the same oversized camera module in the center of the back, which looks like a circle with flat top and bottom. Two-thirds of the back is matte.

But in the middle, there is a thick bar, which is not only bright and reflective, but also has a diagonal pattern, you can see it at certain angles. This part of the back is easy to collect fingerprints, and because the matt areas on both sides remain relatively clean, it is more eye-catching. The stripe also has a huge Poco logo, but its silhouette is as weak as the X3, which makes it simpler. 

How big and heavy is Poco X3 P? It is ro. It weighs 213 g and has a thickness of 9.4 mm, which is higher than the average value for this part.The protection level of the enclosure is IP53, and Poco calls this enclosure "splash-proof". The most interesting thing about Poco X3 Pro is the Qualcomm Snpadragon 860 SoC. This is a relatively rare processor, and this is the first time we have seen its practical application. 

Qualcomm rarely offers multiple 800 series models every year. But now, we not only have the flagship version of Snapdragon 888, but also 870 and 860. It is a slightly modified version of the Snapdragon 855 released a few years ago, but it is still very powerful by today's standards. The F1 of the Snapdragon 845 is a bit outdated, but it was still very powerful at the time. Snapdragon860 has eight CPU cores: one at 2.96 GHz, three at 2.42 GHz, and the other four at 1.8 GHz, which can be considered Adreno640. 

Integrated graphics processor.It does not have a built-in 5G modem. Although 5G is not yet realistic in India, Poco seems to be a bit behind, as most other manufacturers are setting it as a big selling point under Rs 20,000. The price level. You will get a fairly large 6.67-inch Full HD + LCD screen. It has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum touch screen sampling rate of 240 Hz, and supports HDR10. With a fairly large 5160mAh battery and 33W fast charging, Poco uses UFS 128GB 3.1 memory and 6 or 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. Elsewhere, the high-end version has 256 GB of storage space, but the calculation method for the Indian market segment seems to be different.

Specifications include dual-band WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5, GPS, stereo speakers and high-resolution audio certification.Xiaomi’s subsidiary Poco phones run MIUI. We discussed MIUI 12 in detail in our recent reviews of Redmi Note 10 and Mi 11X and all products in the same class. The user interface includes features such as Game Turbo for adjustments and shortcuts, video toolbar overlay and a second area for privacy protection. You can customize the notification sound to have a function similar to iOS, and have split parts for quick changes and notifications, and you can also switch between on-screen buttons and gestures for navigation. 

There are several pre-installed apps, including the GetApps store and theme browser, which generate a lot of spam notifications. If you don’t want to see any advertising content, you should also turn off the Glance lock screen carousel.

Poco X3 Pro Performance 

Now, when you pay Rs 20,000 for your smartphone, you should expect perfect smooth performance in daily use, and this is exactly what Poco X3 Pro offers. The hardware is sufficient to support all your social media and communications. Apps as well as casual games and productivity tools. 

When switching between multiple heavy applications, I did not feel slowed down at all. Performance tests show how good the Snapdragon 860 SoC is. AnTuTu 9 reported 5,43,796 points, which is great for making calls. In comparison, Redmi Note 10 Pro Max scored 2.71.830 points and Realme X7 5G 3.35.698 points (although the scores of the old version of AnTuTu cannot be directly compared). 

The 3DMark Wild Life graphics test scored 3476 points, while the GFXBench scenes of T-Rex and Car Chase ran at 119 and 39 frames per second, respectively.As far as color reproduction is concerned, the X3 Pro's display is not the best display I have seen at this price point. This is suitable for casual wear, but if you really want to make your product stand out, you may feel a little disappointed. The high refresh rate is good, and HDR is enabled when playing YouTube videos. 

According to today's standards, the camera hole is larger and can be distracting in clearer video scenes. With Poco X3 Pro, they are loud enough and very suitable for in-game sound effects. They really don’t allow you to get the most from high-quality music. All these features together make it a reliable tool for games. Asphalt 9: Legend, everything went smoothly. I like this game overall. The upper back of the X3 Pro is a bit warm, and the large camera bump on the back makes the phone sometimes difficult to hold. In both cases, the protective cover should help.It is usually very pleasant to use. The fingerprint scanner works well and it is easy to find it by touch. Face recognition is also fast. 

Due to its large size, not everyone will be satisfied with this phone, especially with one-handed operation. Check the form and content of the advertisement in the GetApps notification, and just do a little search in the phone settings to turn it off. With moderation, you can even extend it by one and a half days. Using the included 33 W charger, Poco X3 can charge up to 55% in 30 minutes and up to 93% in an hour.

Poco X3 Pro Camera. 

Interestingly, Poco chose a lower resolution for the rear camera of the X3 Pro than the Poco X3. You will get a 48-megapixel main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. In the primary model of the same series, it has 64 or 13 megapixels. Of course, the quality of the sensor and lens is much more important than the resolution. It will be interesting to see how Poco X3 Pro works and whether people are willing to go beyond the usual "more is better" marketing message. There is also a 2MP macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

The camera application is the same as the latest Mi phones. It has many functions, but some of the controls are hidden, for example, you can switch to or from a macro camera with a few taps. The main camera mode switch is located in the dial above the shutter button, and there is an additional menu that contains more modes, such as short video, video recording, dual video, AI watermark, clone and long exposure.

In terms of photo quality, Poco X3 Pro is not the best in its class. If you are a casual user, you have enough photos, but the colors are not displayed as often as you want, and they are dynamic. The range is not very strong. There are a lot of details in daylight photography, but don't expect the most realistic textures. The ultra-wide-angle camera naturally picks up poor details, and the compression appears clearer, and there is some perspective distortion. Close-ups and portraits are better, because phone cameras are usually much better at close-ups. A certain natural depth of field can make your photos stand out. It is difficult to focus accurately with a macro camera, because you cannot tell whether you are too close or too far away from the subject, and the final image quality does not guarantee that you spend too much time. 

The 20-megapixel front-facing camera cannot present the most natural skin tones, and I think the standard anti-aliasing effect is too strong. The selfies taken during the day and night are good, but the effect is not good. Portrait mode can work normally. Have a separate background, although the focus is not always perfect. The video recording speed with the main camera on the back is up to 4K 30fps. There is no stabilization effect, and regardless of the resolution, I have noticed a slight jitter in the recorded video when moving. For still images, the quality for daily use is acceptable, but the quality can be improved at this price. The video recorded under bright street lights at night is grainy and opaque.

Opinion

X3 Pro has almost no clear goal, it aims to provide the highest processing power in the range of around 20,000 rupees. It can be said that it was successful. This is a mobile phone that is very suitable for gaming. Feel agile and responsive for the foreseeable future. If you are looking for a device that looks good but doesn't want to spend too much money, then this may be a convincing choice. 

There are other benefits: IP53 protection and stereo speakers are also good. If you are looking for a bold design, then you will get it. On the downside, the screen is a bit disappointing, and the cameras are relatively average. If 5G is important to you and you want to use the full power of the processor in the next few years, then X3 Pro is not for you. It is also bulky. Obviously, young buyers will like the features provided by X3 Pro, but this phone is not for everyone.
